The length gives you plenty of options for how high or low you want to hang the plates. There's enough chain so that with three hooks on each side of the two by four I can hang in the near hooks or the far hooks depending on how I'm balancing out the targets. Eventually your dad or someone you're teaching to shoot is going to hit the chain period I use the chain repair links, but also keep a couple extra chains on hand just in case these are great for hanging new targets.

Easy to setup and works great!

It never fails that a weekend outing with friends always results with someone shooting the mounting hardware and rendering your AR500 target useless for the remainder of the day. I have almost pistol whipped countless friends for doing this on almost every outing. Before finding this repair kit/link repair I always had to wait till the end of the shooting session and then make a run to Home Depot to order a replacement chain to replace the one that has failed after being riddled with rounds and ended up looking like Swiss Cheese. These links are a lot more Heavy duty than the picture shows. The picture just does not do these links justice. Please be advised that these links are very heavy duty and robust and thus do not think that you will be able to use a Leatherman or other multi-tool to squeeze the links shut. I have to use a very large set of Channel Locks to get the links closed. These links are the best invention ever!!!!!I have 6 repair links but will be buying a lot more with all my blind friends that never fail to shoot my mounting hardware chains!!!!

I had been ordering the chain kits, and always ordered a spare as one of my knuckle headed friends would almost always shoot the chain. Initially it would mean that target was out of commission until I could get it home to repair, or the time it took to replace the destroyed chain. With the chain repair kit, one link and a pair of pliers and your back up and running in a few minutes. I am sure I will have to order some more the next time my group goes out shooting.

Pays to have some, just in case.

I have not yet used these but they seem like they will work in a pinch ... much better then just a zip-tie I think. They will no doubt come in handy one day to keep the shooting continuing instead being ended due to a broken chain. I just added this on my order with other steel just to have. :)

haven't needed to use these to fix any chains, but have used them as hangers, they are very strong.

These links will fix a broken chain in a hurry. But it will take a lot to close them up. Get your strongest man and biggest pliers. Haven't had to use one yet, as my chains haven't broken. #Marks note, use a Hammer if you can ;)

The first time I used my gongs (2 at the time) I never thought about the hardware being hit. Well, it' s inevitable. When that happens it means a lengthy delay to replace the chain etc... We still had a great time (so much so, that my gong selection swelled to 18!)... With the 1st outing in mind, I brought extra hardware the next time, INCLUDING these repair links... They're very heavy duty and were installed quickly to broken chain sections. Don't be caught without these repair links! I'll be buying an extra set myself...

Have not need quite yet, but we did have a chain hit sighting in a 223. With inexperienced shooters we have at times, it is just a matter of time to need a quick fix. Nice to have on hand.

I bought these for that "just in case" insurance for out on the range. Very robust and strong. Im sure they will work when needed.

Went to the range with my new shootingtargets7 Gong rig with 20 firemen and their range toys. Unfortunately, I didn't know about these quick fix links and of course my jerk off buddies rapid fired all over my brand new rig and cut the chains. These quick links will come in handy on future range trips - The youngsters like to take their AR's and blast away - the gongs barely registered a nick - I highly recommend the shootingtargets7 products - very well made - everybody loves the ting of a gong over paper.

No rocket science here but when a couple dozen errant AK rounds took out a chain, these links saved the day. Good to have some spares.

First I bought the AR400 3", 4" and 6" Gongs and intended to buy the mounting hardware at Lowes. However when I began pricing all the hardware I discovered that I could not match Shootingtargets7's price. No brainer, order the mounting kits from Shootingtargets7 and save yourself a lot of hassel and a little money. Used targets and mounting kits for the first time yesterday, shooting with grandson and son inlaw. Shot 22LR pistol, rifle and .380 pistol from 50 and 25 feet with nothing more than the paint being marred as expected. No evidence of damage front or rear sides. Did not hit mounting hardware so repair links were not required. Great products at a great price!

This site has it all figured out! I am not the worlds best shot at 150 yards and occasionally take out a chain link. I was wondering how I would repair them...look no further! Get a few bags to keep on hand. They are so quick and easy.

You know it, somebody or you will shoot those chains in half. Nice, easy way to repair quickly!

To minimize downtime and maximize shooting time, I bought an extra mounting kit, chain repair links, and a few carabiner snap links. Like the old boy scout adage (not the new "scout")--Be Prepared! Of course, comparable things can be purchased at Home Depot, but I'd rather avoid various human freak shows in town and have them delivered to my home in two days.

Can't even buy these locally at this price point.

These are mandatory items in your range bag should you break a chain!
