Complete rack of steel targets constructed from 46100e milspec steel. Similar to AR500 but more expensive, harder and has a tighter grain structure. Limited availability, we get this material only once every 2-3 years.
READ THIS IF YOU INTEND TO SHOOT 5/16" WITH 2.23 / 5.56
This 5/16" 46100 target was destroyed after being shot with a 5.56 at 50 yds.
To avoid anyone else having this issue I am posting this here to be
as clear and transparent as is possible.
Be 115-125 yds away with 16" barrel & 55g ammo so bullet speed drops below the max allowed of 2850fps. Further still if you have a longer barrel. If you can not back up shoot heavier (SLOWER) ammo.
I will expect you to take responsibility and will not replace your targets if you destroy them because you did not follow these instructions.
COMMON QUESTIONS:
Q: Can the 5/16 handle 5.56? A: Yes but be far enough away so bullet speed is BELOW 2850fps or you could pierce them. (not 60 yds)
Q: Can the 5/16 handle my 6.5cm? A: Yes, but be far enough away so your energy is BELOW 1750fpe at targets
Q: What can I shoot at the 1/4? A: Anything under 1000fpe and 2850fps (at the targets)
Q: What is 46100e is that like AR500? A: AR plate, known for its abrasion resistance in mining, contrasts with 46100e, a military-grade armor known for superior quality, tighter grain structure, and stringent testing. You're getting more, for less.
