I ordered the 16" 1/2" gong for practice with a .308 rifle. The "gong" arrived and appears to be exactly what I was looking for. I haven't had a chance to shoot it as yet, but I have no doubt it will be perfect. I will post a follow-up once I've had a chance to practice with it, nice product!.

Love the targets.

I really love this new 16 x1/2 in gong. As always shooting targets 7 came through.

Well made, smooth edges, works well, quick service and fast shipping. Hung it as a swinger from a homemade A-Frame

I’m continuing to build my range and I am never disappointed in the quality of the targets from Shooting Targets 7. I just added a 16†x 5/8†gong. The prices are very good and the shipping is quick and always well packaged. I’ll keep going back. Next I plan on getting some small targets to round out the plinking side and humiliate myself to keep me humble. I’m having a lot of fun doing this.

I had four people shooting at this target with 7.62X54R steel core rounds. The target held up great. I would recommend these targets to to anyone.

Ordered on a Monday and had it by Thursday! Superfast - so even if shipping was almost $30 it made up for it in speed of delivery. Painted it white and shot this thing with my 45/70 from 100 yards - makes a clearly visible black spot when it removes the paint. Not a mark on the steel and rings loudly!. Also used a 9mm pistol on it from 7-15 yards - with the optional mounting kit it hangs perfectly and deflects the bullet fragments downward every time. Safe and fun! Get one - it's worth it!

Nice piece of steel. Cut quality is great, shipping to west central Alberta was about 1 week, which I think is great. I was shooting 338 Lapua at 100 yrds and the 300 gr bullets just splashed off. I was impressed. Then my buddy was shooting 7mm Rem Mag.,100 yrds, 150 gr bullets and they put a significant dibit in the steel. 338 Lapua was about 2900fps and the 7mm Rem Mag was about 3150fps. I have'nt shot at extended distance, but would recomend it. I think the targets are great. i've bought just about every thing Mark has for sale. It's all good.

I purchased this target from the Ebay store and received it within a couple days. It was mounted from behind with bolts and a chain to give it a slight deflection angle. From 150 yards with 5.56, 7.62x39, and 8mm Mauser rounds there was no observed damage or wear from the nearly 500 rounds it was struck by. The plate was loud when struck giving immediate feedback to the shooter and observers. My friends and I had a lot of fun shooting this target. If taken care of I imagine it will be with me for many years, and is considered a worthwhile investment. If you are on the fence about purchasing such a product, it is my hope you get one for the enjoyment of you and your family and friends to enjoy.
AC
I hung this plate at 100 yards to shoot with pistols and rifles. I got the 16" so shooters would have an easy time to hit it with a rifle off hand (I bought the 10" "bullseye 1/2" plate for finer shooting) and also because I like to shoot pistols at 100 yards. I shot it with a 9MM, .38 Spl, 357 Mag, .223, and .458 Win Mag this weekend. It barely moves on 88 Gr 9MM loads, but does better on 124 Gr. It passed the .458 test with flying colors. No damage at all. If you want a plate to ring loudly, this is too thick/heavy for pistols and light rifle calibers. Get the 3/8" for rifle or 1/4" for pistol for that. I'll probably order a 16" 3/8" plate for lighter shooting and save this for the heavy ones. This is a great plate, but don't expect it to ring loudly at 100 yards with pistol or light rifle. It should last forever though. I wish there was a way to post a pic. :)
Vinny
I bought this for shooting my 308 at a 1000 yards. At that distance it is hard to hit.,but when I do it makes a loud gong.
SpencerH
Great pricing, great product, simply amazing! I will buy all of my steel targets from ST7 for now own.
Shotgunner
I have seven (7) of the Shootingtargets AR500 gongs now and they are GREAT! They are so much more fun to shoot than paper, plastic bottles or cans. And except for a quick coat of spray paint twice a year they are MAINTENANCE FREE. My friends love to come to my back field and shoot. The gongs are a great long term investment-i will be enjoying them for many years.

I ordered the 16" x 1/2" thick gong target several weeks ago. I also ordered the chain mounting kit and shootingtargets threw in a free 4" gong. My friend and I took the 16" gong out two weeks ago. We set it up on a homemade stand at about 350 yards. We fired .223 and .308 at it. .223 hits were audible with ear protection and .308 hits were very audible. Super high quality product and I am very pleased with it. Will buy another sometime in the future. Shipping was quick and the gong arrived well packaged. (Also shipping was free since the total was over $100). The 1/2" material is a beast; this is a lifetime target.
Kaw
This beast took more than 20 rounds from a 50 cal sniper rifle, 500 rounds of 300 aac and 1000 rounds of 223/5.56 match grade and is going strong! To end the weekend we took 5 shots with the 50 at 200 yards to "test" the integrity. Looks like shots from 600 yards. As with all my other Shooting Target 7s, this is the best target I have ever used!!! Mark note# Ken, send us a video of shooting that 50 at our steel and I'll end you a free target.
Scott
I've purchased steel targets from Shooting Targets many times. Have always been pleased with the quality of the product and great service.

Perfect for 700yards out to 1200yards with my Sniper Rig! Since loading up on these me and my friends shoot steel exclusively instead paper targets.

I bought 8 plates for ST7 (all 1/2") Circles in 6", 8", 10", 12", 16" and 3 IPSC silhouettes. We have been hammering away at the silhouette and one 16" circle with 7.62x39, 223 and 300 Blackout at 100 yards. FMJ, Hollow points and soft points. I think the FMJ or hollow points in the 7.62x39 are leaving tiny nicks in the steel ... big deal! They are so tiny I think if you hit it with a 223 it would probably flatten them out. These things will outlive me! We have put hundreds of rounds onto these plates and I am very happy with price, shipping and quality. I am building a big range and plan on buying more plates from Mark to finish out the course. Buy some paint, red yellow or orange. and touch up your shots so you can see where you hit
Kerry
Believe me, I did my research concerning quality shooting steal. I found Mark's website and found exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the AR 500 Gong in 1/2 inch metal in a 16 inch Gong. Most websites were far more expensive when considering the 1/2 inch and the pricing was really good at just over 106.00 dollars and the shipping was free because it was over 100.00. I also purchased the chain assembly for hanging. I could not be happier. Mark's metal 1/2 AR 500 metal in 16 inch Gong was real Quality and I would definitely purchase from Him again. After shooting at paper for a long while, I had considered a camera system to determine exactly where my rounds were hitting. With Mark's metal targets, there is no wondering where you hit. The paint comes off roughly the size of a quarter or more to begin with and grows larger with numerous paintings until the paint is removed and started again. If you are considering a metal target, give Mark a try. You won't be sorry.

Free shipping, gongs clean not all rusty, chains perfect length with all hardware, fun to shoot and sound awesome , they hold up to heavy use and are everything they said.

I got my 16in gong and FREE 4in gong a couple weeks back, the shipping was not the fastest but i am by means complaining. The steel looks great, no cracks or stress on the faces or edges. I took both plates out the the range and they did great, took 149gr 7.62x51 and 180gr 30-06 like a champ. And at the price combined with free shipping and a free 4in gong how can you not buy this?
Daniel V.
I ordered this target on a Weekend and received it that following Thursday. I believe that this is excellent service and the instructions that are included are easy to understand and guide you perfectly on how to set everything up professionally. These targets are very Heavy Duty and should provide years of recreational use. I highly recommend this company and these targets to all my Firearm enthusiastic friends and family. Definitely 5+ stars in my opinion!!!!

This target is nicely priced and works great. The gallery on the website regarding how to hang, etc, was very informative Some were cleaner than others but all I needed to do with the target was to clean then up a bit with sanding and then some painting.

Free shipping on steel. Who heard of such a thing. arrived quickly, edges are perfectly smooth, no slag or jagged holes, took paint nicely. My 300rum takes the paint off but no damage to the target. EXCELLENT!

I have ordered gongs from 16 inch down complete with mounting kits.I also ordered 2 of the 10" bullseye. Our last club shoot we set up multiple targets using a large and a smaller one from 400 to 650 yards. The mounting hardware angles the target and deflects the bullets down while allowing easy movement and these things really ring when hit. They are great for club shoots and I carry them any time I head out to shoot.Quality is super and after being shot multiple times they are unmarked.

great target painted them BRIGHT GREEN

I have ordered from Mark before and I love the targets. Order the 16" for some long gun practice. Shot at it with a 300 win mag, 308, 7mm, and 6.5 Grendel. The target was out at 400 yards and no damage except for the paint. Love the sound it makes when it hits and people behind you that can't even see the target say HIT!! :-) This target was smoother than ones I have bought before and had some protective oil on it. Even after trying to remove the oil it seemed like the paint had a hard time adhering to the target. I know this target will hold up over time and that is why will keep buying my targets form Mark.
Shawn
I am thrilled with this gong. I went a little bit thicker than I needed to (3/8 probably would have been fine) and this gong is soaking it up like a champ. The quality is outstanding and I expect it to last for years to come, short of someone bringing a tank to the range. The shipping was very quick and the tracking kept me informed. I am really surprised at how well it rings for its thickness. Easy to hear at medium ranges even with hearing protection.
Scott
I use this gong primarily for rifle use, I also set up with the suggested ranges for the given caliber I am shooting and have not even made a dent, absolutely awesome product, I will be ordering more in the future as soon as my wife allows me the funds :-)
Monty
Having so much fun with the first decided to add another for different distances. This metal is cleaner than my first and cut just as perfect. These are heavy targets but really hold up to the abuse. For the quality, price and especially shipping, Marks products are hard to beat.

Shipping for a gong this size was fast, fast fast. Great target, with very good edges. Can't beat quality, price or service.

This target is awesome. I have shot it with a 338 Lapua Magnum at 500 to 800 yards and it held up as advertised. I have put 100's of rounds of .300 Win Mag, 308 Win and 223 Remington. Very audible even out to 800 yards. I also purchased the 10" and 4" target with the Stencils kits for all my targets.. GET IT AND YOU WILL LOVE IT.

Bought the target for a shoot this weekend in WI. Tried it out last week and had the excellent performance I have come to expect. So far, my friends and I have bought 6 plates and have been impresses with the durability.
Monty
Having used this plate for many times now it's a fabulous addition to the shooting set-ups we do. Mixed with paper in close and steel away. Have also used steel at 25 yrds with handgun so long as you make sure the target hangs at an angle. Think Mark's target stand is a must buy, especially with the heavier targets like this 16" plate! You'll be glad you did.

Like all Shooting7 targets this edges are smooth and clean!! Nowhere have I seen such quality for steel targets. This was purchased for our long range rifles and its performance doesn't disappoint! If you want the best steel targets look no further then ShootingTargets7.

This target is unbelievable. Very solid, durable and well constructed target. @200yrds you could hear the ring perfectly. No damage at all from a 223/556. Extremely happy with this target and would recommend it to anybody looking for a great target.

This is my third order from shootingtargets7. I have been totally satisfied with them.

I certainly did my research before buying from Mark. There are numerous web sites related to steel targets and I believe that Mark, who owns Shooting targets 7, sells His steel targets at a competitive price with High Quality steel. I recently purchased the 16" Gong from Him in the 1/2 AR 500 metal. It is in fact awesome. I shoot a 300 Win Mag and it is always at a distance and with the 1/2 inch steel, there are certainly no worries about pitting the metal. I used to shoot paper and as most of you know, at distance I could never see where I had hit in reference to the bulls eye. This is certainly not true with Mark's Steel targets. You can see immediately where you have hit which takes the guess work out of the equation. Mark sells His product at a competitive price with High Quality steel. You can trust me, I have ordered and I have seen the product. Do give him a try, you won't be sorry. Hornetkd from Texas

I made my order and in just a few days received my gongs . shipping is very quick . took them to the range and had a Blast shooting them . I would highly recommend getting a gong if you enjoy shooting, and this is the place to get one or two.

Quick Delivery, Outstanding quality and easy setup. I purchased this for the 300 yd line as I was concerned it would not hold up. WRONG!!! This is a BEAST!! The report was more of a slap slap rather than a gong/bell sound. (6.5x55 & 308). No Problem... My next purchase will be the 3/8 16" and I will be moving the "Beast" to the 200yd line. Great Product

This is an awesome place to buy steel targets. The shipping was super fast. I purchased the 1/2" 16" gong and stencil and they gave me a free 4" target. The website has excellent videos to help with hanging properly and kits for hanging them. I also really liked the photo gallery they had for showing what their customers are doing for great ideas also. Thanks again Mark and I'll be ordering more.
Patrick
I can't explain how enjoyable this big target is! I enjoy this target for lots of reasons. The quality, price, and shipping are just top-notch! I love the instant feedback you receive with shooting steel targets. I'll buy from Shooting Targets 7 again!
Robyn
This target is awesome. I have shot it with a 7mm Remington Magnum at 100 yards and it held up as advertised. I have put 100's of rounds of .45 acp, 40 s&w, 44 magnum and 357 magnum. Also shot it with a 50ae desert eagle. This target is flat out awesome. It has a great ring to it. Very audible even out to 400 yards. i purchased the chain hanging kit. It works very well.
BubbleWrap
I ordered the 16" with hanging hardware and received an extra 4" for free. I hung the 16" in a tree 800 yards and the 4" at 600 yards from my favorite shooting spot on the farm. I've used the .308, 6 mm BR, and .338 LM, and they aren't showing a bit of structural damage, just blew the paint off. Both sound loud enough to hear through my hearing protection, but just barely with the 6mm on the 16". I'm really impressed with these targets.
Eric
Quality steel. Shot it with pistols and rifles. Hardly a dent. Super fast orxer processing and shipping. Price is hard to beat. Thanks

I had purchased a 12" gong which was may first time shooting steel. I use it for 400 yard target shooting and wanted to extend my range beyond that, so I purchased a a 16" gong and had a lot of fun shooting both with my 300 Win Mag and 270 WSM. Great quality and customer service.
A Texan
Hello Mark, Hung your 16" gong at 280 yards on grade 8 bolts and double seat belts under 4x4s and the clang and bang was non stop here at our 4th of July weekend annual machine gun shoot here in Texas. The 300 win mag and big momma lapua got their share, too. BIG hits for sure. The rifle bulls eye target was taking on all shots, too. Nary a dimple in the gong or the bullseye targets. The 16" stencil got squished by the post office twice but all those stencils still did the trick for all the targets.ALSO expect a future order for your SUPER stands as I spent a lot on black pipe and required extra help but your one man quickie turnkey hangars will totally compliment my shooting gallery. Thank You, Mark! The Best!!!! Duane J.

I tested my 16" x 1/2" tatget along with my free 4" x 1/2" target at 200 yards using .308 x 168 gr GMM. I bolted up the 16" target as per the instructions, but used crimp-on chain links on the 4" target. After 20 or so rounds to each, the 16" was unscathed; however the 4" target had departed the chains and was hanging over the top by a single chain. Upon closer inspection I discovered that the heavy duty crimp-on links that I had used were no match for the GMM rounds. The 16" target, using the recommended bolt-on method, was still hanging just fine. This goes to show that when the manufacturer recommends a specific mounting technique, you should listen to him. At 200 yards these targets withstood .308 x 168 GMM without a dent or a scratch. Follow the instructions and you will be happy with the results.

Hey Shooters, First off, the ordering was easy and shipping was tight, arrival in 3 days. As others recommend, get the chain kits out of the gate, just easier and I also recommend a couple of extras for simplicity. The gong is fantastic and I'm glad I got the 16 incher. I was putting 223, 308 & 338 LM at 380 yards, so sighting in on 16 was better than 10. I bought this with a 10 inch bullseye type. I could sight in on the larger, then switch over to the smaller. I have a custom varmit bolt action 223, but the wind would push the bullets enough, it was hard to keep them in the 10, but I could see it using the larger 16. As for wear, 300 grainers, no problem. I had to hike the target and stand up quite a hill, so I didn't get to try them at closer range, but I put at least 20 338 LM rounds on these guys and zero deformation. Somebody put some other 1/2 inch plate of some kind of steel at~340 yards and there was ~3/8 in protrusion behind the hit, so the energy was there. I used the quick set-up stand, also from ShootingTargets7 and it was great. I left some quick links in case I blew the chain for an easy repair, but I didn't expect the hit on the chain to bend the carriage bolt, so I'm glad I had a hack saw with me as well. I recommend a little kit to leave at the stand with all the extras for a repair. Don't forget the HW in the cross beam. This doesn't come with the gong, or the HW kits, you just get a bare link on the hanging end. The carriage bolt set-up leaves the gong with a slight down facing angle, so lead splatter is not an issue on the attach point. I had probably on the order of 100 rounds on targets and no issues on the face of the carriage bolt. My only issue was with transportation. I thought it would be simple to pack the two targets and accoutrements (I took a small battery powered impact driver to make my life easier) into a backpack and hall then up the hill. The starting point was the tough part. The width of the target larger 16 incher at the attach ears was enough to be too big for the backpacks I had in mind. Luckily I did have one that was just big enough to fit everything. Trust me when I say it was work hauling everything in one backpack and carrying the stand legs and 2X4, but boy was it worth it. After setting up, which took minutes, I, along with some friends, had a full weekend of shooting on these targets. They took a beating and no signs of wear except for the missing paint. All in all, well worth the investment. I know I'll have these to enjoy for years to come. If you've got a high caliber rifle, been worried about whether these can take the beating, and worth forking over some of your hard earned cash, this is a must have.

This 16 inch gong target looks awesome. Looks like great quality but have not had time/ability to use it yet. It is heavy and expect to have some fun! Got the 1/2 inch gong as I wanted to get something that will last and take a big hit. It may be more than I need but still glad I got it. Shipping came quick.

I am really impressed with the service, shipping, and the quality of the targets. This is my 3rd time I have ordered a set of these. I wish I bought more of the 16 inch plates. I only have 1 and should get a couple more. I highly recommend when you purchase to get 3 8inch, 3 10inch, 1 12inch, 1 4inch, 1 6inch, and 1 16inch to start with. Also, just use shepherd hooks to hang them until you find where you you would like to hang them more permanent.

Like all Shooting7 targets this edges are smooth and clean!! Nowhere have I seen such quality for steel targets. This was purchased for our long range rifles and its performance doesn't disappoint! If you want the best steel targets look no further then ShootingTargets7.

I set mine at 200 meters and have hit it hundreds of times with M2 ball, 7.62 NATO, M118 and M885 which has has only managed to remove the paint that I apply.

This target is unbelievable. Very solid, durable and well constructed target. @200yrds you could hear the ring perfectly. No damage at all from a 223/556. Extremely happy with this target and would recommend it to anybody looking for a great target.
