As much as I was blown away by the quality of the gongs... I wasn't as pleased with this product. It's hard (at least for me) to get a proper, clear paint picture with this. Generally, you just want the gong anyway... so even though this wasn't really expensive... in the future, I would just buy another gong and paint the whole thing. This really didn't help much. MARKS NOTE: Joe, I can almost guarantee you are using too much paint (common mistake) another tip is to use fast dry auto primer, it coats very easily with just a very light spray and is less likely to run leaving you with crisp lines. As a whole, this a great product. It would be nice if it was a reversed image. Instead, you have to keep in mind that you first, must paint the target red or white, then put the magnetic stencil down, then paint the rest of the target black if you want it to turn out right. These work ok, not great. The stencil is thin so the magnet is not that strong. We just lay it flat on the ground to paint. Don't use too much paint, otherwise you end up with a mess, not a crisp crosshair. They are thin enough that they bend almost to the point of breaking. Not sure they will last long. Love the idea however they break REALLY easy after paint dries. These need to be 3x thicker. The paint stiffens them up so when you handle them the next time, they will break very easy. We already had to buy new ones.... This is last batch until these are made stronger.Quality Price Shipping
Mark note: Danno, you may have the earlier thinner ones. New ones are actually 3x thicker than the originals were (.015 now .045). Also take care to not use lacquer based paints (if you are), it eats the plastic. (Posted on 9/27/2017) - Awesome product!

I used this stencil to paint my 8" gong before going to the range, and I highly recommend it. It makes painting a "bullseye" on a target very easy and the end result looks very cool. We were able to get our range set up this past weekend. We got a mixture of gongs and bulls eye targets in 3/8" plate, what a great group of targets. After hundreds of rounds of all sizes of pistol and high powered rifles, the targets held up without a scratch or dent. The mounting kits are great, I'll have to buy more as we shot a couple of chains this weekend. I also got some of the stencils, what a great way to set up your steel targets. I have ordered 3 times, each time my order has left their shop the day I placed the order. Great service, great products, I will always shop here for my steel target needs. Don't lay stencil on fresh paint or paint will stick to stencil - duh
So paint gong first and let dry completely and then lay on stencil - magnetic side down
Then paint over stencil and gong that shows
